NEW ZEALAND MAORI
The Maori name for New Zealand is Aotearoa which translates to "Land of the long white cloud." The survival of the Maori culture is a big part of what makes New Zealand such a special place. They have kept New Zealand true to its origins by keeping native rituals and traditions alive and in the public venue. Maori traditions, including the Haka (War dance), Powhiri (Traditional Marae Welcome) are all still practiced openly and provide a memorable experience for tourists and locals alike. The Haka is also used by the famous New Zealand All Blacks rugby team to instill fear into the challenging team. See the Haka being performed by clicking this link- Watch Haka Video
