NEW ZEALAND MUSICOn our last trip to New Zealand, I had a chance encounter with one of New Zealand's most famous pop stars, Hayley Westenra. You may have seen her recently on the PBS special, Celtic Women. We were on a Sea Kayak trip to a place on the Coromandel Peninsula called Cathedral Cove. 
When we went to shore and started exploring the cave, we ran into a lot of camera and sound people filming a young teenage girl. When we got back to the house that day, we told the story to a Kiwi friend who identified the young girl as Hayley Westenra. It turns out she was filming the music video for the song "Pokare Kare Ana". Several months later, when we got back to Colorado, we watched the video online. It was a unique experience for me, having been at this remote spot to watch the filming. It was our first exposure to New Zealand music. If you have not heard Hayley sing, take the time to
